Gambling has always been in high demand in Asia. Their history on the continent goes back thousands of years: the first games were invented in China in ancient times. From mahjong to keno, which, by the way, built the Great Wall of China, gambling in this part of the world has long attracted a huge number of people.

Now, with the latest technological advances and the growing popularity of online casinos and gambling sites, the gambling scene in Asia is slowly re-emerging. The market is no longer limited to land-based establishments: Internet sites are also beginning to play a significant role.

Not all Asian countries, however, welcome gambling in any form, let alone online gambling. Islamic laws and strict casino policies hinder the development of the gambling market and have an extremely negative impact on the economic potential of this area.

In recent months, the coronavirus has forced many countries in Asia to turn their attention to online gambling, and this has provided operators with an ideal opportunity to enter one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Below we will talk more about gambling in Asia, the role of online gambling and the opportunities for online casinos. The popular Portuguese casino expert Antonio Matias and his project CasinoReal will help you learn more about casinos.

General overview of the Asian gambling market

Each state in Asia has its own view on gambling. In predominantly Muslim countries, gambling in any form is completely prohibited. Others operate various types of gambling sites, from state lotteries and bookmakers to large casinos. The main gambling centers in Asia are the so-called gambling and entertainment resorts in Macau and the Philippines.

Macau is the largest gambling hub in the world, with over 40 million tourists visiting its luxurious casinos to enjoy quality poker, baccarat, roulette, blackjack and more. Although China prohibits all types of gambling, Macau is a special administrative region, which allows casinos to operate freely in this territory. Gambling accounts for more than half of Macau’s total revenue, more than $50 billion a year.

As for Japan, there is a positive development. In 2016, changes were made to gambling laws, according to which the opening of land-based casinos was allowed.

In Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam the situation is similar. States seek to attract wealthy Chinese tourists with an abundance of affordable games and first-class service.

In recent years, the Asian market has shifted towards the online realm and currently accounts for over 11% of the global Internet gambling market, second only to Europe.

So, in 2019, the income from online casinos in Asia exceeded $70 billion, and this number continues to increase every year. And yet, the main problem with online gambling remains its legality.

Is Online Gambling in Asia Legal or Not?

The legal status of online gambling in Asia varies from country to country. It is technically banned in most Asian states. However, the laws do not apply to players who play on foreign sites, and although some countries, such as China, try to block access to these sites, gamblers still visit them using virtual private networks (VPNs).

The biggest steps in legalizing online casinos have been taken by the Philippine government. Thus, the Philippine Entertainment and Games Corporation was established, the body responsible for licensing online casinos and betting platforms. Companies licensed by the regulator are now free to operate in the country, which has significantly reduced the percentage of illegal operators and brought more than $3 billion to the treasury.

Can a business in this area be profitable in Asia?

Despite legal hurdles, the online casino industry in Asia is thriving. Gamblers play on leading foreign sites, thus avoiding any problems with the law. Moreover, more and more countries are starting to look at online gambling as an additional source of funds, especially now that the global economy has suffered a devastating blow as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to official statistics, the industry is growing by 50% annually in terms of both the number of players and the profits of operators, and, of course, joining it will be a potentially profitable decision.

When working in Asian markets, you need to carefully select games for your platform: these should be slots with an oriental theme, as well as baccarat, pai gow and other table games of Asian origin. A good move would be to add a wide range of payment methods, including cryptocurrencies, e-wallets, credit / debit cards and mobile banking systems, which are widely popular in Asia. For example, for Portuguese players there is a good opportunity to see the best casinos with payment system mbway casinos. Finally, each operator must offer the option to play from mobile devices. Most Asian gamblers use smartphones and tablets to play, and a stable mobile casino is a must.

Conclusion

Now is a great time for gambling operators to get started in Asian countries and take advantage of all the opportunities that this growing market offers. Online casinos in Asia can be a very lucrative business and the sooner you select the right white label or turnkey gambling products for you, the better your market position will be.

Asia is a vast part of the world, stretching from arctic to equatorial latitudes. All types of climatic belts found on Earth can be found here.

General information about the climate in Asia

The formation of Asia’s climate is related to the physical and geographical conditions of the territory. First of all, it refers to the vast length from north to south and from west to east, the topography and the washed waters.

The amount of sunlight and heat varies with latitude. The higher north, the less sunshine and the colder the climate.

Asia has some of the highest mountain systems on Earth, which affect air circulation, so the climate is different from flat regions.

Air from the Pacific only affects a narrow coastal strip, because there are mountains in the east of Asia. Also the monsoon circulation prevents the air masses from the ocean to go further.

The Atlantic Ocean brings dry continental air to Asia, and the Arctic Ocean brings cold arctic air. As it enters the interior, it transforms into continental air.

The Indian Ocean only affects the southern part of Asia. The Himalayas prevent these air masses from passing over.

Subarctic Climate Belt

It extends in a short strip from west to east across the entire Asian part of Russia. It is located mainly in the West Siberian Plain. This is a zone of tundra and forest tundra.

The more eastern, the lower the temperature in winter. This is where the cold pole – Oymyakon – is located. The temperature can drop to -50° C. In summer, the temperature averages +10° C. On the southern border of the zone it is slightly higher. At the same time, the threat of short-term frosts in summer remains.

Precipitation in the form of snow and rain is frequent, but the total amount per year is small (up to 600 mm). A large proportion of precipitation falls in summer. The wetting coefficient is more than 1, so the ground is overwatered.

There is heavy cloudiness and constant winds blowing here. This is due to Arctic cyclones.

Temperate Climate Belt

It occupies the rest of the territory of the Asian part of Russia. Since the territory is vast, there are subtypes of temperate climate:

  • Continental Sharp
  • Continental
  • Monsoon climate.

The territory of temperate climate is influenced by Atlantic air, which, moving eastward, becomes drier. The farther away, the more continental features are more pronounced.

The continental climate subtype is located on the territory of Western Siberia. Summer temperatures here are comfortable from +15° C in the north of the zone, to +25° C in the south. Winters are cold, around -20° C.

Precipitation varies from north to south. The total annual amount is about 500 mm. But the south of the territory already has insufficient moisture. Here begins the semi-desert.

The sharply continental subtype occupies the southern part of Siberia, as well as the mountain systems in southern Siberia. Dry air blows all the year here, so there is little precipitation. Does not exceed 500 mm per year.

Summer temperatures are +20° C, winter temperatures are harsh -30° C.

Monsoon climate subtype occupies the territory of the Far East of Russia. Monsoons blow to the ocean in winter, so precipitation is scarce. The weather is clear but cold, averaging around -25° C. In the summer, the wind blows from the ocean to the mainland and brings with it an abundance of rain. Most of them are cyclonic in nature. The air is warm, about +15 ° C. Up to 800 mm of rain falls each summer.

If you’ve been dreaming of traveling in Asia but don’t know what to choose from all the variety, our selection is just what you need. Noisy megacities, wild jungles, snow-white beaches – choose according to your taste. We’ll tell you not only about popular destinations, but also about places you probably haven’t even heard of.

Hokkaido is the second largest island in Japan. The climate here is noticeably colder than in other parts of the country. But there are many things for visitors to see. For example, the beautiful natural scenery, which you can enjoy on foot, by bike or by motorcycle. Or the mountain villages, where you can bathe in indoor onsen – hot mineral water from the spring, which is filled with special tubs ofuro. It is worth trying the luxurious seafood: crabs, sea urchins, scallops, caught in cold waters.

Ironically, it is in winter that Hokkaido experiences an influx of tourists: you can go skiing and snowboarding or see ice sculptures during the Sapporo Snow Festival.

Today, Hokkaido is easily accessible thanks to a high-speed train that connects Tokyo with Hakodate, the southern port city on the island. A Japan Rail pass, a travel-only pass for tourists traveling in Japan that allows unlimited travel, can be purchased on the train. The line will reportedly be extended to Sapporo, the largest city in Hokkaido, which will host the Asian Winter Games in 2017.

The center of the world is definitely Shanghai. It seems that all 24 million residents of the city are eager to live at their own pleasure. And they have all the conditions for it.

Ballroom dancing in parks, gourmet drinks in tea houses, amazingly delicious steamed dumplings served with black rice vinegar sauce, popular cocktail and craft beer establishments among neon-lit skyscrapers.

But old Shanghai hasn’t disappeared, either. The streets with houses built in the Shikumen architectural style are bustling with life. You can also admire the colonial European Art Deco buildings that are well preserved on the Weitang promenade.

In Shanghai you can find entertainment for all tastes. For example, Shanghai Disneyland has been welcoming visitors since June of this year. Or you can climb the Shanghai Tower, the second tallest building in the world, and admire the panorama of the city.

In the center of Jeonju is the Hanokmaeul architectural complex, turned into an open-air museum with more than 700 perfectly preserved wooden buildings with curved roofs in the traditional Korean style. Exhibitions and festivals are regularly held here.

Cheongju attracts not only those interested in history but also foodies from all over the world. Food lovers come here not only from all over the country, but also from all over the world. Cheongju, designated a “City of Gastronomy” by UNESCO in 2012, is the birthplace of Korea’s most famous dish, pibimbap. Pibimbap consists of boiled white rice covered with a vegetable salad, a paste of hot peppers and raw egg, and thinly sliced slices of beef. If you find yourself in Cheongju, be sure to try the local street food, it is very popular for a reason.

The Vietnamese are undoubtedly one of the friendliest nations in Asia, with their always radiant smiles. Vietnam is a relatively small country surrounded by China, Laos and Cambodia. The majestic Mekong River flows out of the high canyons of China, flows through the country and eventually flows into the sea.

The city of Da Dang has a magnificent beach atmosphere. There are 30 km of white sandy beaches fringed with endless palm trees. Among tourists and residents who like an active lifestyle, especially popular beaches Mai Khe and Lang Ko, where you can engage in various sports.

Just 20 minutes away is another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the beautifully preserved Asian trading village of Hoi An. Further north is the ancient former capital of Vietnam, Hue. This city has an incredible history and places of phenomenal importance. It has a clean environment, stable infrastructure, and an exceptional way of life. Over the past decade, it has won the ASEAN Award for Sustainable City.

Bali, Indonesia

This tropical island is known for its beautiful beaches, winding rivers, endless jungle, temples and slightly hippy lifestyle. The island offers many activities for intrepid explorers, including rafting, diving, hiking to waterfalls, rice terraces and the Handara Gate.

The island can be likened to a puzzle, with a variety of areas suitable for totally different travelers. For beach lovers, the districts of Denpasar and Seminyak are suitable; here you can find upscale accommodation, clean and quiet beaches and peace away from noisy parties. For hipsters who love healthy food, yoga, surfing, and a rowdy nightlife, Changu is undoubtedly the best place. Further inland is Ubud, a spiritual place surrounded by rice paddies and wild jungle.

Attractions of Thailand will tell you about the interesting history of this exotic country. Tourists will remember the impressive architectural complexes, an unforgettable experience of fishing, exciting shopping, interesting excursions. Friendly local guides will offer recreation for all tastes and varying degrees of income. From the first hours of the visit this hospitable country resolutely dismisses superstitious fears of an unfamiliar Asia, which is welcoming and will remain in the memory forever. Do not know what to see in Thailand? Especially for you we have compiled a list of the most popular attractions of this country.

  • The historic city of Ayutthaya
    • Like a two-faced Janus, this capital of the province of the same name appears to tourists in different guises. Half of Ayutthaya, filled with ruins after its destruction, is a UNESCO heritage site and is a historic park city. Modern urban life quietly takes place in its second part with limited infrastructure.
    • Staying in Ayutthaya gives a glimpse not only of modern Thai life, but also of its glorious historical past. Once it was the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam, today it is only a modest city, included in the excursions. There are no many bars, bustling nightlife, trendy spa salons. But wishing to look at the ruins that remained of ancient Siam is enough.
    • On the vast territory of the historic city are the ruins of many temple complexes, palaces, Buddhist statues, other buildings. Of interest are the summer royal residence “Ban Pa Yin”, impressive ancient temples, which give an idea of the culture and history of the country.
  • Royal Palace in Bangkok
    • When thinking about what to see in Thailand, it is worth planning a tour of the Royal Palace in the capital. The 218-square-meter palace complex was designed based on the Ayutthaya prototype. The royal family comes here only for ceremonies. Some of the buildings inside the complex are still occupied by government offices today.
    • What structures are on offer for visitors? Interesting is the Dusit Palace with its snow-white facade, decorated with a portico in the form of an arch and a peaked Thai roof. Here you can see the mother of pearl inlaid wooden throne of Rama I.
    • Chakri Throne Palace, built in the 12th century, is of interest, with its ceremonial rooms, private chambers of the Queen and urns with ashes of the kings of the Chakri dynasty.
    • The wooden pavilion Apkhonhimok is a masterpiece of Thai architecture. Its design is simple, but combined with magnificent decorations it seems simply magnificent.
    • To the east of the palace buildings are the Sivalai Gardens with King Rama IV’s private temple, decorated with light mosaics and lined with gray marble.
  • San Camphaeng Hot Springs
    • For those interested in Thailand’s health-enhancing attractions, the San Kamphaeng hot springs are the place to go. Located on 40 acres of green space, they are known for their restorative effects.
    • Year-round, sulfur-rich water rises from the ground at a temperature of about 100 degrees Celsius. There are separate rooms or pools for baths, and here you can have a session of real Thai massage.
    • In addition to taking therapeutic and recreational baths, there are many restaurants on the territory of this park, and in the vast areas planted with grass, tourists often have picnics. If you wish, you can join a bicycle tour, raft down the river, or ride elephants.
    • In addition to the springs, the area is famous for its silk mills and the abundance of handicrafts made in the Bo Sang artisan village nearby.
  • The White Temple
    • During the tour, try to get to the White Temple, the most unusual Buddhist structure in the north of the country. The famous Thai artist Chalermchayu Kositpipat began its construction in 1997 and continues to this day. Rejecting funds from sponsors, he uses only his own savings, thus eliminating any outside influence on the design of the structure.
    • The temple itself and the sculptures in its surroundings are decorated with pieces of mirror and are a pleasing color of marble. The path leading to the entrance is called “the road from hell to heaven” because of the characteristic sculptural design: the hands of the narakas stretching out of the ground, the fangs of the demon Rahu, the guards, the bridge over the pond separating the worlds.
    • In the temple, besides the two statues of Buddha, you can see murals on the theme of the struggle between good and evil and atypical for the temple heroes: Neo from “The Matrix”, Batman, the Jedi.
    • There is a pond with fish, many sculptures, and an art gallery of the founder-artist himself. The roof of the temple is decorated with 4 animals symbolizing the different elements.
  • The historic city of Sukhothai
    • A few hours from the capital and you’re in Sukhothai, the historical center of the country. It used to be the first capital of the country.
    • Modern Sukhothai is a small town. But Sukhothai, known as a tourist attraction in Thailand, is 10 km from the first. The jewel of the place is Sukhothai Historical Park. Its territory is divided into 5 sections. The central part concentrates modern metropolitan life. It is here that the greatest temple of Wat Mahathat, topped with a spire, surrounded by lotus lakes and consisting of 200 stupas and dozens of buildings.
    • In the north of the city is the oldest of the temples of Wat Phra Phai Luang, containing elements of Hinduism and Buddhism and consisting of 3 high stupas. Here, in the northern part you can see a tall (15 m) statue of Buddha 11 m wide.
    • The main temple in the east of the city is Wat Chang Lom. At its base are statues of elephants. At the top of the hill is the Wat Saphan Khin temple, a stone-paved road leads to it.

Asia – islands, temples, colorful kaleidoscope of exotic fruits, good painted elephants, fussy and clever monkeys, the sea, the sun, palm trees … And in general, Asia – a whole philosophy, time flows smoothly, nothing passes without a trace, everything is born again and flows into each other. Do you want to visit the most beautiful places in Asia?

Thailand

This country has won the laurels of the most popular resort destination for our compatriots. It has everything: a lazy beach holiday, interesting excursions, picturesque nature, a rich nightlife with parties, cocktails and Thai delicacies (well, you know what we mean). There are so many resorts here that you can go to a new one every year. Pattaya, Phuket and Samui islands – bigger and Phi Phi Phi, Ko-Mak – smaller, but in general, a whole bunch of islands, each of which you can find everything you want.

Vietnam

Rest in Vietnam inexpensive in terms of food, entertainment, etc.. That is why it likes the European youth, because here you can surf and just relax lazily. The main resorts are Nha Trang, which is recommended for active tourists, Phan Thiet – a quieter, for what he likes couples with children and Phu Quoc – for those who like a luxurious holiday. Of entertainment: excursions to national parks, boat trips to islands, all sorts of unusual for us activities (like ostrich rides), as well as more familiar – such as the Amusement Park “Wynperl” on the island of the same name.

Sri-Lanka

As many antiquities as there are in the legendary Ceylon, you are unlikely to find anywhere else. There is ancient Sigirya – a majestic mountain, decorated with a giant statue of a lion, and Dambulla with the largest collection of Buddha statues, and Kandy – the ancient residence of the rulers, and Anuradhapura with a centuries-old history and the sacred Bodhi tree. And this is not the whole list, and we have not yet said a word about the wonderful quiet beaches with red sunsets, against which the silhouettes of local fishermen sitting on special poles directly in the sea.

India

If you want to go to the sea, then Goa and Kerala are waiting for you. Goa is for partying in the north and total relaxation in the south. You can say that it’s not even India, but “little Portugal”, everything is quite modern, a little local color, but there is a special atmosphere, which was brought here by hippies: freedom, parties on the beach and all that. Kerala will appeal to those who want to get acquainted with ayurveda, there are many centers of Indian medicine and yoga schools. There is also the famous golden triangle Delhi-Agra-Jaipur, the city of Varanasi, Mumbai and many other cities that are interesting but not safe to travel alone.

Indonesia

To understand how to really relax on vacation, go to Bali or Java or Sumatra, in general, to one of the beautiful islands of Indonesia, where the background of the Indian Ocean is calm and tranquility. See the temples, play with the monkeys. And if you want to party, clubs and entertainment, then, for example, the Balinese Kuta you more than enough: a street of entertainment and a few schools of surfing training will quite compensate your desire for activity.
